Introduction:

(SMTA) Sindh Mass Transit Authority is a government organization that is responsible for working on improving transportation in Sindh province. Their main aim is to provide safe efficient and affordable public transport in major city like Karachi. Sindh Mass Transit Authority was established in October 2016. It manages the traffic problems in Sindh and in Urban areas of Sindh. There is an increase in vehicles and population, so it can be difficult to manage this traffic without a Metro Bus.

(SMTA) Sindh Mass Transit Authority is working on many important projects mentioned below:

Green Line Karachi Metrobus:

The green line bus rapid transit (BRT) is the main and important project of SMTA. Green Line Metrobus start working in december 2021, almost 2 years ago. It starts from Numaish Chowrangi to Surjani Town via Shahrah-e-Usman. Green Line has 22 different stops. Green Line provide dedicated bus lanes to avoid huge traffic and provide efficient services to their passengers. It also offers some seats for older and disabled persons. Green Line Buses are air-conditioned modern and provide separate section for women.

Orange Line Metrobus:

It is similar to the green line metrobus and also known as the Abdul Sattar Edhi Line. It has almost 20 hybrid buses. Orange Line Metrobus started operating in September 2022 and is still updating their services and providing an efficient environment. Orange Line BRT connects key places in Karachi and gives more afforadable transport service.

Yellow Line BRT and Blue Line BRT:

Sindh Mass Transit Authority (SMTA) upcoming project is Yellow and Blue Line Bus Transit Service. Their aim is to broaden public transport service to many routes across Karachi. Their aim is to reduce travel time costs and traffic across Karachi.

SMTA is just not a bus rapid transit service; its about how people travel in short time and at low cost across the cities. After that, a few people will use car rental service taxis and rental bikes, which will reduce the road traffic and air pollution across the province.
